Connect has today unveiled its latest
product offering to the public sector,
the Online Children’s Service
Directory.
Based on the successful model used by
ISA trailblazer authority Gateshead
Council, the new product offers end-
users maximum flexibility in finding
the information they seek, combined
with true simplicity of use.
As part of the national childcare
strategy, local authorities are
required to provide comprehensive, web-
based information about local services
to children, families, carers and
practitioners. Connect’s Online
Children’s Service Directory supports
a joined-up approach to the provision
of such an online information service
by facilitating contributions from a
range of service provider partners.
Originally developed in partnership
with local authorities, the NHS,
voluntary sector and other partners in
Gateshead and Newcastle, the Online
Children’s Service Directory pulls
together crucial information from a
variety of sources into a single
website, making it easier for children
and those responsible for them to
access help and advice at the click of
a button.
The product is underpinned by
Connect’s easy to learn content
management system, ConnectCMS, which
allows non-technical contributors to
add and edit content at the touch of
the button, with only minimal training.
A proven and cost-effective solution
with fast implementation, the Online
Children’s Services Directory complies
with ISA and government best practice,
and has a customisable front-end
interface.
